Putting things in perspective – YTD Stats

Published on June 24, 2010 by | 1 Comment | 910 views

Thought these stats were interesting. Top 5 in most batting stats in the league, bottom 2 in almost all pitching stats.

Rank out of 16 National League teams…
Batting
Avg – 6th
Runs – 4
Hits – 2
Homeruns – 3
Doubles – 2
Triples – 7
RBI – 4
Stolen Bases – 10
On Base % – 3
Slugging – 2

Pitching
ERA – 14th
Hits – 14
Walks – 16
Strikeouts – 3
Saves – 16
Walks & Hits/In – 16

Pretty obvious what the problem is. What can be done to fix it without jeopardizing the offense?

I thought about this when I was watching the game last night. Pretty strange to have such a lop-sided team in my opinion. Where would the Brewers be if they had better pitching?

I think they can shorten the starts of every pitcher BUT Yovanni and just leave the balance of the game up to the relievers. They will get a good workout and if the Brewers ever get a couple pitchers, the relievers should be good to go from that point.

The real question is, can they do this before their big hitters take a walk?
